Modern Day Mystics

Matthew 9:10-12 says, "And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Jesus eating with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, 'How is it that He eats and drinks with publicans and sinners?' When Jesus heard it, He said unto them, 'They that are whole have no need of a physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.'"

Recently, while eating with my family at a local restaurant, I sensed a major move of God's presence falling upon the place. It took me by surprise, but God spoke to me.... "Get used to this! I am beginning to bring a revival inside of restaurants and cafes through my people! I miss dining with publicans and sinners!"

It Started as We were Saying Grace Over Our Food...

We were saying "grace" over our food, then "MULTIPLIED GRACE" went airborne, blessing the food in the kitchen and every person in the restaurant! As our family was just sharing about the goodness of the Lord, His glory began to increase--filling the atmosphere. His presence was so strong that I knew it would linger long after we were gone!

"God Spoke, "No Longer Tip the Waitress for Serving You...Bless Her with a Love Offering--For She is Actually Serving Me!"

In the Spirit, I not only saw one person giving a tip to the waitresses, for service at their table, but I saw every person blessing the waitresses with a personal love offering! Many waitresses were shocked in unbelief--these love gifts were causing them to come under the power of God. As these love gifts were opening their hearts with thankfulness, many waiters and waitresses gladly were opening up to share their needs. This gave opportunity to ask if they could be prayed for to receive even a greater blessing from the Lord Himself!

Many waiters and waitresses, through serving God's people, would eventually be saved and shine and bring great prosperity to their employers--turning many employers to the Lord. As a result, the Spirit of God in these restaurants and cafes would draw people far and near to 'taste and see that the Lord is good!'"

Some Restaurant and Cafe Menus Offered "Prayer For The Sick"

Many "publicans and sinners" would come just to sit and experience a love and peace that surpassed all their understanding! The lost would come because they heard of healings and miracles taking place. Along with their meal orders, they would often have a request for prayer for their sick bodies!

"It's A Great Time to Invite Your Enemy Out to Lunch"

Through my own experience, when Jesus told me to invite a certain enemy out to lunch, a powerful thing happened to both of us. I had heard that this person liked pizza, and so do I. After we got to the restaurant, I said grace to bless the pizza, and we didn't really talk much at all because we both loved pizza so much. I learned then why Jesus said, "Feed your enemies!" It was as though Jesus Himself pulled up a chair to our table and knocked the Jericho walls down between us as we simply ate together! We both realized later that we were actually having communion over that pizza!

Eating together is a powerful weapon that brings a bonding between people! Esther knew the way to a king's heart was through his stomach. And this is one of the many methods she used to soften the king's heart toward her, and thereby her plea for the Jewish nation. It is also interesting that of all the things that Jesus could have chosen to do in His final moments with His disciples, he chose..."the last supper."

Revelation 3:20 says, "Here I stand knocking at the door; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and sit down to supper with him and he with Me."

He is still knocking on the door of our hearts to come and sup with us and reveal Himself more fully!

The "unseen" guest at every meal is about to be seen!

EXPECTATION is a function of emotion!

If you will remember, we are in a process of moving from Passover to Pentecost. Pentecost is a time of fullness. Fullness means: "I fill you until you run over! I fill you until My plan is fulfilled!" (John 1:16) The concept of fullness means that there is a place of abundance for you to experience (John 10:10). Fullness occurs when something fills up or comes to completion (Mark 2:21, 6:43, 8:20). Think of the fragments of the fish and loaves that filled the baskets. That is a good example of fullness. The Lord takes what you have, breaks it, blesses it, and you have more than when you started. Fullness is happening in your life when the measure of Christ's blessing is overflowing (Romans 15:29).

The Following Prophecy and Exhortation is from The Glory of Zion Outreach on April 30, 2006:

The Spirit of God began to move in the worship and Barbara Wentroble moved forward to prophesy:

"This is a time of discovery. For even as I AM bringing discoveries in the earth, and I AM bringing discoveries in technology, and I AM bringing discoveries in alternate fuel, and I AM bringing discoveries in the medical field—THIS IS A DAY OF DISCOVERY FOR MY BODY! I will cause My Body to discover who they are in Me.
 
It is Christ in you, the hope of glory, that will sustain you in the days ahead. The mysteries that have been there throughout your life, I will now begin to explain. For I AM the God who reveals mysteries, and I AM bringing forth the discovery of the mysteries that I have stored up for you for this hour and this season. Open up your understanding, and open up your eyes and SEE!

This is something that I have reserved for this generation. There were those, even the prophets of old, that looked into the future and only saw a glimpse of what I have reserved for this hour. This is a day of unveiling. This is a day of discovery. This is a day when My people shall understand and experience that which I have reserved. Do not get caught in what I did in the past, but understand that was only a building block to bring you to this season, and to bring you to this time. That which I have reserved, I have reserved for this generation. This is a time of discovery, and you will discover even the purpose for which you were created."

Then I began to encourage the people:

This is a time of discovery. Let the Spirit of God move on you. He created your spirit within you. He formed your spirit, so it would awaken to Him, and you could live in eternal life with Him, worshiping.

Then the Lord said:
 
"For there is a depth in you that I have not pressed into, and now I AM beginning to bring forth the drill of My Spirit that can go deeper into you, where you have not been touched before. You are entering into a time of Me touching My people, so that they press through and touch Me.
My virtue has been stored up to be poured out upon you! You are fearfully and wonderfully made, and now I will break through that barrier that has kept the oil sealed within you, and new oil will flow. This is MY TIME of DISCOVERING the riches in MY PEOPLE that have been stored for this hour."

Then LeAnn Squier sang:

You shaped me in my mother's womb,
Wrote upon my heart Your redemptive plan and put a hedge around my life.
You clothed me with a garment of favor, even in my mother's womb.
Now You will unfold Your redemptive plan,
For I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
I am written on Your heart and You already know all my days,
I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
You will NOW unfold Your redemptive plan.

John Dickson sang:

It doesn't matter if I stumble or fall,
Your favor has clothed me and not my shame.
I will stand up and receive my call.
To you, my strengths and weakness are the same.

You have closed the door to my past.
My full supply will now last,
New wells, new wine, and new oil are on my way,
Fountains of hope in the wilderness and water from a rock are here to stay.

I leave yesterday behind, and I step into my future that's in Your hand.
I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Joe Knight finished by adding the following exhortation:

"This is a time for God to reveal His original design for our lives. Some have believed the lie of the enemy, and have gotten off course, but God is bringing you back to your original design."

10 Days of Developing An Expectation for the Future

May this be a time of visitation, where the presence and power of God invade your space and order your steps! MAY YOU BE RESTORED AND HEALED--body, soul, and spirit! Expect God to move!

Day 1: Read Psalms 139, Ephesians 2. May the Lord show you who you are in Him. You are ORIGINAL--fearfully and wonderfully made! Thank Him for forming you in your mother's womb. Spend the day PRAISING! This is very important in the process of breaking cycles.

Day 2: Memorize and speak forth 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24. Decree that your whole spirit, soul, and body will be sanctified! Also read Joshua 3.

Day 3: Sing or praise with Psalms 23. Agree with God for the restoration of your soul. SOUL is linked with "breathing." Soul refers to the entire inner nature and personality of a person. Read Deuteronomy 26:16-19. Declare that you will be set on high in a new place with a seal called "SPECIAL." Decree life, and life abundantly. Read and underline Matthew 6:25, Luke 12:22, John 10:10. Thank God for the prophets in your life (Acts 3:23). If you have quenched the prophetic anointing in your life, confess it as sin. Memorize Proverbs 29:18. Ask the Lord to open up new vision and revelation over your life. Memorize Jeremiah 30:17.

Day 4: Ask the Lord to make your heart PURE! Declare that the seat of your feelings, desires, affections, and aversions will come under the alignment of the Holy Spirit. Read the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1-12). Ask the Lord to send help or aid to your soul, so you can attain your highest end. Declare your "end" will be greater than your beginning. Read Haggai 2. Ask the Lord for your soul to prosper in a new way. Read 3 John 2; Hebrews 13:17; James 1:21, 5:20; 1 Peter 1:9. Now, ask the Lord to make you "see." The pure in heart SEE HIM (Matthew 5:8).

Day 5: Memorize Proverbs 18:14. Ask the Lord to remove any vexation of the spirit of the world and its influence on your spirit. Thank God that you are a spiritual being, and that you will live eternally with Him. If you do not have this assurance, stop and ask the Lord to remove any doubt from you. Receive a cleansing through His blood. Read Hebrews 9. Ask the Lord to cleanse your conscience and restore it to full working authority. Ask the Lord to renew your communion with Him. Take communion with Him. Your spirit is that part of you related to worship and divine communion. Read and underline John 12:27; 1 Corinthians 16:18; 2 Corinthians 7:13; Matthew 11:29; 2 Corinthians 7:1; 1 Peter 2:11; James 5:20; 1 Corinthians 5:5; 1 Peter 1:9; Matthew 10:28; Acts 2:31; Romans 8:10; Ephesians 4:4; and James 2:26.

Day 6: Read Romans 6. Make a list of any place that "sin has dominion over you." Decree that by the power of the Holy Spirit, you are freed and cleansed. Watch for sins of omission such as gossip, criticizing, judging, etc. At times, these are hidden from us and produce unbelief in us.

Day 7: The BODY is the lowest part of man's triune being, where the soul and spirit reside. Honor the Holy Spirit who has chosen to dwell within you. Read 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 2 Peter 1:13-14. Thank Him that your Body is His. Re-read Romans 6:13,19. Yield your members one by one unto God as instruments of righteousness rather than unto iniquity. If you have a part of your body that is not working properly, ask the Lord to heal and cleanse that portion. Include any organs that you know have been affected by sin. Read Romans 7 and declare that the "pull" of the old is eradicated.

Day 8: Fast as the Lord leads you. I suggest you fast solid food and only drink liquids (water, herb tea, broth) on this day. Read Romans 8. Thank Him that you have been adopted by Him, and that His blood is flowing through you to restore you!

Day 9: Declare all hope deferred is broken from you, loosed and removed from influencing your life. Declare the power of scattering is broken as you read Ezekiel 36-37. Thank Him for a new heart and spirit. Declare a new Door of Hope is opening. Read Hosea 2, 6, 10. Confess that the sin of unbelief is broken from your bloodline.

Day 10: Read Psalms 62 and Psalms 32. Declare your emotions healed and your spirit free. Worship throughout the day. Use praise music. If you are driving, sing with the music. Healing scriptures are important to recite. Memorize Hebrews 11:6. Ask the Lord for your next measure of faith. Read and meditate on Isaiah 60. Arise; shine! Decree that all depression and oppression must leave. Expect God to move on your behalf. Expect miracles and healings to begin to happen in you and through you!

On the morning of December 24, 2004, as I was being awakened from a dream, I heard a scripture being recited directly from the Bible. It was Isaiah 51:15-16 saying,

"For I am the LORD your God, who stirs up the sea and its waves roar (the LORD of hosts is His name). "I have put My words in your mouth and have covered you with the shadow of My hand, to establish the Heavens, to found the earth, and to say to Zion, "You are My people."

Naturally, living in Orange Beach, Alabama, this passage immediately had a measure of significance. Just three months before, on September 16, Hurricane Ivan devastated our hometown with a 25 foot wall of water. Even now, almost two years later, our area is still in recovery mode.

Even so, this strategic scripture had even greater meaning two days later. On December 26, 2004, an event transpired that caused me to look at verse 15 in an entirely new light. On this date the tragic Asian tsunami took place. The seas truly were stirred and the waves roared in an unprecedented way.

I was not able to forecast the Asian tsunami from this dream, but the fact that the tsunami occurred, provides incredible affirmation that the truth resident in verse 16 is a present word.

End-Time Impartation

This particular passage has been one the Lord has utilized often through prophetic experiences to illustrate a function of His end-time army. The Bible promises that He will put a prophetic word in our mouths that is full of both life and power. This word comes directly from His heart and establishes the revelation of His Kingdom.

Furthermore, when this impartation takes place, it is fundamentally necessary that it be pronounced from an atmosphere of spiritual anointing. He said, "I have put My words in your mouth and have covered you with the shadow of My hand." The overshadowing of His hand is the forum from which decrees and proclamations must proceed. Mary was overshadowed by the power of the Most High and her agreement with Him was creative.

This is an illustration of His anointing for power and authority. When this takes place, it is the consolidation of the Word and Spirit that will not fail. It will accomplish every purpose for which it is intended.

According to Isaiah 51:16, when the Lord puts His Word in our mouths and covers us with the shadow of His hand, the resulting prophetic directive is intended to do three things:

1. To establish the Heavens
2. To found the earth
3. To say to Zion, "You Are My People."

A Prophetic Commission

The prophet Jeremiah was once privileged with an incredible face-to-face encounter with the Lord. The Prophet records that, "The LORD stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me, "Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have appointed you this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant. (Jeremiah 1:9-10.)

As it was with Jeremiah, Kingdom authority has been delegated today to accomplish the same purpose and model as in his day. We are being appointed with spiritual oversight to root out, pull down, destroy and overthrow, but also to build and plant. That is the directive of Isaiah 51:16.

What is established in the Heavenly places will be released on the earth. When this takes place, there will be a calling out of the Bridal company to take her rightful position of power and authority for the great harvest. The Holy Spirit is speaking to the seeds of destiny, resident in the Zion company saying, "you are My people." We will be identified as bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh to accomplish the same mandate given to Him by His Father...to bring the message of redemption and to destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3:8.)

On Earth as in Heaven

The attributes of the spiritual atmosphere surrounding a region, dictates the characteristics that region demonstrates. For instance, if spirits of witchcraft and sorcery predominantly occupy the heavenly places over a region, then many of the people living under that jurisdiction will be captured by these spirits. Likewise, if an open Heaven can be achieved over a territory, then righteousness and truth will flourish. Many souls will be won through a fruitful harvest and God's people will walk with Him in fellowship.

The videos we have seen of the cities that experienced transformation are clear evidence of this reality. We have watched South American cities previously bound with corruption, become totally renewed spiritually and naturally. Even the vegetation responded to the revelation of God's Kingdom with fruits and vegetables produced in unparalleled ways.

Our Mandate

Many Christians are being positioned to experience this commissioning. The Lord is stretching forth His hand to fill our mouths with decrees and proclamations direct from His heart. Like Jeremiah, the anointed words of God's people will uproot the forces of darkness and plant the revelation of His Kingdom. When this takes place, there will be an abundant harvest of souls and the Lord Jesus will begin to receive the full measure of His great reward. (Revelations 5:9.)

We are presently living in a season that will be identified with spiritual breakthrough. A Heavenly host has been assigned to us in this task. Our responsibility is to articulate the Lord's desire through His anointing to establish the revelation of His Kingdom. The battle is won in the Spirit first, then manifested in the natural. This is our strategy for corporate breakthrough.

Birthing Signs of the Overcomer

It must have been a sight to see! The children of Israel could only watch with amazement, as Moses brought the terms of their release to Pharaoh from God--backed up with powerful displays of the supernatural. They had never seen the power of God like this before, and now He was demonstrating it on their behalf. The very same thing happened with Jesus as we read in Matthew 4:16, "The people who sat in darkness, saw great light; and to them who sat in the region and shades of death, light hath arisen." Jesus shows up demonstrating the supernatural power of God in a new model of what was to come.

For the Israelites, the process of just getting to the place of entering their land, was long and difficult. A whole generation had passed away, because they did not possess the character or the faith required for taking the Promised Land. Another great change was now coming upon the reality of their existence. In the wilderness, everything had been provided for them; food, water, even the shoes on their feet did not wear out for 40 years. Now, with Joshua, they would have to fight for their own inheritance. The obstacles that stood in their way simply looked impossible.

The New Reality of No Limits

Joshua and Caleb were of another spirit and were granted access into the Promised Land, because they followed the Lord fully (Numbers 14:24 and 14:30), and possessed the "Spirit of the Overcomer." Today, like Joshua and Caleb, an emerging company is rising that is hearing the "yes" of Heaven and will follow the Lord fully. This company may be difficult for many to welcome and accept, but we need to get ready for them for they will display the "NEW REALITY of NO LIMITS!"

Several generations ago, A. W. Tozer said, "The fact is that, we are not producing saints. We are making converts to an effete type of Christianity, that bears little resemblance to that of the New Testament. The average so-called Bible Christian of our times is but a shallow display of true sainthood. Yet, we put millions of dollars behind "movements" to perpetuate this lower form of religion and attack the man who dares to challenge the wisdom of it."

Every generation has had its revivals and revivalists that would stir the so-called "pot" and the religious order of the day. The leaders would have to scramble to do "damage control" to try to bring the people back into their so-called normal lives. But, tell me, what really is normal?

An Emerging Ezekiel's Company

Rick Joyner recently wrote that we are coming into times when passive Christianity and passive Christians will cease to exist. There is a maturity, a discipline, and a divine militancy coming upon the people of God. Those who have succumbed to humanistic and idealistic theologies, may have a hard time with this, but we must understand that God is a military God. The title that He uses 10 times more than any other in Scripture is, "The Lord of Hosts" or "Lord of Armies." There is a martial aspect to His character that we must understand and embrace for the times and the job to which are now coming.

There are strong signs of an emerging church that knows no limits in God. This emerging army is an "EZEKIEL'S COMPANY," that has the very breath and life force of God blowing through them. Their sole identity and purpose is found in the power, the presence, and the person of Jesus Christ. They have a radical faith and bold disposition that keeps most people off balance--watching with amazement-- and, when the situation demands it, they know how to execute and operate in the power of God, to do the humanly impossible. We are no longer standing on the outside of the Kingdom looking in. We are smack-dab in the middle of it and are quickly becoming the "Greater works than these shall you do," generation! (John 14:12.)

The Return of the Glory of the Lord

We have crossed the threshold of a new door and have entered into a new room, of seeing the return of the glory of the Lord. It is a new season, a new cycle, a fresh place with the Lord, where the body of Christ is beginning to move past its present experience and self-induced limitations, into new streams of the glory presence of God. People are soaking themselves free in the Golden Glory River of God, only to find themselves in a brand new place, on a brand new shore, bearing fruit.

Out from this Golden River, this new breed of believer is emerging with all of Heaven's DNA (Divine Nature Applied), and is being thrust into cities, regions, and the nations, as "glory dispensers," with astounding signs, wonders, miracles, and powerful displays of the supernatural. God has put His "Governmental stamp of approval" on them, as a fresh sign to the body of Christ of seed promised by His Holy Spirit. They will reveal realms of the glory, yet to be seen.

The New Breed of Saints

This new breed of saints understands, that the anointing is released through compassion and the affections of their heart. The only language they understand, is what comes by waiting in the presence of the Holy Spirit. Meekness and humility are their trademark. The favor of God envelopes them, because of the fatness of the anointing that rests on their lives. As harvesting machines, they understand that the great harvest that is to come into the church, will not come in by conventional means, but will come in supernaturally, by lovesick lovers releasing the realm of the Kingdom of God, in power, everywhere they go.

In order for us to see the supernatural power and glory of the Kingdom of God flow, we need to be radically transformed in the way we see and understand God--who He is, and how He operates. The Lord is looking for those whose hearts are completely His; those who will wait on Him and allow Heaven to fill them, so they can understand by experience, what it looks like when He invades our world. What does He look like? How can we detect Him?
This new breed of disciple, is humble and teachable, and they walk completely dependent upon the leading of the Spirit. They are constantly being stirred and transformed in the inner man, in order to detect even the slightest heart impulse that comes from the heart of the Father. They have come to know the secret of abiding power, and that breakthrough comes from the friendly counsel of God in His presence, as they wait and are clothed with power from On High.

Prayer:

Lord, we ask You for a new breakthrough into the secret place of Your presence. We ask You for a fresh understanding of who we are as sons and daughters of the Kingdom, and for the revelation that will bring us into an experience of this place. Holy Spirit, begin to stir deep hunger in us. We want to be part of this emerging EZEKIEL'S COMPANY, filled with Heaven's breath. Wipe shame from us now, so we can again radiate with fresh love and confidence that comes from Your presence. Build us up in Your grace and strengthen us with experience, as we step out from all that we know as common, and into newness of life with You!

We long to peer into God’s glory--to see behind the veil, and encounter Fire that cannot be extinguished by mere whispers of an opposing wind.

Wouldn’t it be great to truly ascend--not just to imagine, but to truly ascend and join the song of elders, angels, and living creatures as the Court of Heaven is convened? And to see earth shake as the gavel thunders His decision of speedy justice?

This time is not too far off. I believe God’s new move is here. It is no longer coming, as if from some far away place. The substance and life of this "far away place" called Heaven, is now flowing to the earth.

A Fresh Baptism

Malachi prophesied the restoration of the "Elijah anointing" before the coming of the Lord. When Christ came to earth the first time, this anointing was in strong manifestation through John the Baptist. And as the ages have progressed towards His second coming, this anointing has been progressively released to again prepare the way.

John the Baptist is known as a prophet, a "friend of the Bridegroom", given to fasting and prayer. But that’s not the only way John prepared a people to meet the Lord. Zechariah’s son also led a generation into the Jordan to be baptized--to die to the past, arise cleansed from sin, and prepared for the Bridegroom.

Beloved, baptism is a prophetic action that symbolizes a much greater reality. There’s a river flowing from God’s throne that cleanses us from sin--that manifests the power of Christ’s blood in the deliverance of His people. To be prepared to "meet the Bridegroom", we must have a fresh baptism in this river. Like a rushing stream, God’s Spirit is about to flow in deliverance to such a magnitude, that massive numbers of people will be released from generational bondage.

We’re going to experience deliverance in baptisms, as well as a baptism of deliverance. And for many "John the Baptists'" of this hour, your job description is about to be expanded.

Ready or Not, Here They Come

Recently, the Lord spoke strongly to my heart that youth revival is not just coming, it is here. This was the furthest thing from my mind when He spoke to me. His actual words were, “Ready or not, here they come.”

The good news is that they’re coming. Angels have been dispatched as in the days of Zechariah, where the angel of the Lord "returned and roused me, as a man who is awakened from his sleep" (Zechariah 4:1). A generation is now awakening from slumber.

But the question is, are we ready? Long-term commitment is needed. Moms and dads are needed. Deliverers and healers are needed. More than we know, this is a missing key to eradicating Heaven’s delay in revival.

Connecting with the Healers

In a vision last year, I found myself inside a massive, slowly rotating, whirlwind. Through the symbolism of whirlwinds, God has often spoken to me about the restoration of His glory and purposes (see Ezekiel 43).

But this was the first time I was actually inside a whirlwind. It was gold, with layers of what looked like clouds or smoke, moving simultaneously within other layers. At the bottom of the whirlwind, were vast numbers of infant children--babies. As they became enfolded by this whirlwind, they began to ascend. As they went higher, they expanded and grew, but still retained the form of infants.

Then I looked upwards, and, to my surprise I saw a group of older friends who I knew were anointed in deliverance and healing. They were casually dressed, sitting in chairs, and laughing together; seemingly unaware of either the wind, their height from the ground, or the young ones moving steadily towards them.

In the vision, I heard myself crying, “It’s time to connect the babes with the generational healers. It’s time to connect this generation of priests with those who will set them free from generational bondage!”

Generational Healing Needed

This connection needs to happen. Many young "priests of the Lord," have already been awakened with a youth movement of worship and intercession, springing up throughout the nations. They’re giving all for Jesus. But many have also become disheartened because despite their devotion, neither they nor their peers, seem able to break free from cycles of significant compromise, sin, and despair. And God’s manifest presence seems at a distance, compared to the dream God has sealed in the depths of their hearts--the dream they know to be true.

I don’t just know this because of some rare gift of discernment. To a large extent, I’ve lived this story. Healing and deliverance from generational sins has made an incredible difference in my life. So I prophesy to you--in this new move, the lid that keeps you down is coming off. The glass ceiling that keeps you from ascending, is targeted for removal. And so is your accuser. Ask the Lord for the fullness of His deliverance on your behalf.

Courtroom Scene: Intercessor Accused

The process of deliverance from generational sin is pictured in Zechariah 3. Zechariah was a spiritual father to a massive move of societal restoration. Joshua was set in place as high priest as part of this restoration. It’s significant that he bore both the name of the Jewish leader who brought the Israelites across the Jordan, and the name of the true High Priest, Israel’s Messiah, Jesus the Christ.

With the priestly ministry of worship and intercession being so important, you would think Joshua would have had easy access to Heaven’s throne. There’s no such thing as societal restoration or transformation without the connection between Heaven and earth first being restored.

In Zechariah 3, Joshua the priest is truly pictured before the Throne in a courtroom scene where he’s being accused. Joshua is standing before the angel of the Lord, with satan at his right hand to accuse him. In legal terms, this is called an indictment.

If this weren’t enough, Joshua is pictured wearing filthy garments. Joshua’s priestly robes bore witness to the very accusations of the Accuser in this courtroom scene. In other words, he was summoned to court while wearing the evidence! This was bad news for the "societal transformation movement" in Joshua’s day.

Maybe you can identify with Joshua’s plight. I sure can. But we have an even better covenant than this high priest did--ratified with Blood that’s far more precious and far more powerful to cleanse of sin.

The Verdict: Accuser Rebuked

You can almost hear the passion in God’s voice when He rendered His verdict: “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! Indeed, the Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke
you!" (Zechariah 3:2.)

Note: before God can restore a city, He first has to restore the priesthood in that city. And the first step in this restoration process, was to deliver Joshua from the Accuser. Many of us need deliverance in this area. Let us break our agreement with the Accuser in our lives and in the lives of our friends--for Christ’s own blood has already silenced the Accuser’s voice.

Step two in Joshua’s restoration, was the deliverance from "filthy garments." At God’s direction, those standing before him removed the garments, provoking God to declare that his iniquity, or generational sin, has been removed.

Though seeking to live for God, Joshua was still held captive to the patterns of iniquity and demonic bondage, forged by his forefathers. And in the spirit realm, these sins were even visible on his garments. This depiction of generational sin, totally applies to every one of Adam’s offspring. And the cycle can only be broken at the River. Through the Blood of Christ alone, the power of generational sin can be broken.

But it’s important to note that Joshua’s deliverance was a group effort. At least one man (Zechariah), and one angel (the Angel of the Lord), were involved, as were others not specifically identified in the word. I believe God is depicting here, what the process will be like for us. We need to know we won’t get there alone. Generational deliverance is often a team ministry and always a supernatural ministry.

Joshua Re-mantled

The third step in Joshua’s restoration, was to be re-clothed in priestly garments. Interceding in his vision, Zechariah said, “Let them (angels) put a clean turban on his head.” In this season, many are now experiencing visions and dreams which are interactive. Many will prophesy and pray, decree and travail, even in their sleep.

Note also, that Joshua’s priestly covering was restored. As with Joshua, God wants to "recover your covering." Beloved, lets not tolerate our filthy garments anymore! They only attract the Accuser. There’s a better way--one that will not ultimately end in sabotage, reproach, and betrayal. Allow the Lord to strip away your grave clothes. Take a plunge in His River, and let Him restore to you the mantle of life and favor He intended that you display.

Joshua Re-commissioned

The final step in Joshua’s restoration is almost unbelievable. The Lord asks him to walk in His ways and perform His service. In return, Joshua will govern His house, have charge of His courts, and have free access among those standing with him! Wait a minute--first he is accused in court, and now he has charge of the courts of His justice! And best of all, Joshua is promised unhindered access, alongside the angels, to the very Throne of God!

Beloved, just ahead on God’s timetable, is unprecedented access to intimacy with the Father and unprecedented release of authority. We will truly join with men and angels in the song of the Lamb, releasing expedited justice from the courts of the Lord.

Cross the River of Deliverance

To reach this Promised Land, there’s a river to cross--a river of deliverance.

To the intercessors: Pray in this rushing stream! Don’t stop until you yourself are swept away in its strength.

To the priests of this generation: It’s time to cross the threshold and truly put your past behind you. Make the commitment to seek healing and deliverance from generational bondage. And don’t give up hope. The life you’ve been seeking, will come as your healing is walked out.

To moms, dads, and other healers: Your new assignment is an emerging priesthood. It’s time to connect.
The destiny of a generation is at stake.
